Key Benefits
CapabilitiesBecause a Resident Engineer is on location at the utility, he gains a better understanding of the utility’s electrical system. This helps in producing accurate, workable construction work plans. With the Resident Engineer on site, it is easier for the utility to ask questions of the engineer. The Resident Engineer also helps in executing work plans, long range plans, sectionalizing studies and system design. The resident engineer also helps bridge the gap between management and operations. The Resident Engineer can provide technical support and training to the utility personnel in areas ranging from distribution line design and construction to computer applications. The utility sometimes doesn’t have the technical staff available to automate and streamline data record keeping. The Resident Engineer can help the utility to automate utility records (i.e. regulators, OCR’s, meter, transformers).
